South Korea’s captain. He saves long shots well, is calm enough. Reads the game well, plays well away from his goal. Fairly good at saving penalty shots from eleven meters and rarely misses matches.

A former Olympic team goalkeeper, but plays rarely in the national team's main lineup. He played very well in Korea’s "K-League" season and probably will be the second goalkeeper in the national team.

After a brilliant performance in the K-League playing for Busan I.Park, a team with one of the weaker defense lines, he returns to the national team. He can realistically fight for second place, but in Germany, he might be content with the third role.
Defenders

Dick Advocaat invited the player back to the national team. The defender played at the 2000 Olympics as well as at the Asian Games in Lebanon. He missed the 2002 championship, but played very reliably throughout the last season.

After a great season at Eindhoven PSV, coached by former South Korea coach Guus Hiddink, he signed a contract with Tottenham Hotspur on the last day of the 2005 summer transfer window. He is quite fast, can play as a full-back or safely in a 3-4-3 formation.

Plays reliably and calmly, can help in the attack, dangerous in executing long-range free kicks.
4-Choi Jin-cheul (Chonbuk Hyundai) Born: 26.3.71 International Matches: 59 Goals: 4
He played well for the national team at the 2002 championship, but under the leadership of Humberto Coelho and Jo Bonfrere, he rarely made it into the main lineup. The appointment of former national team captain Hong Myung-bo as an assistant coach was one of the main factors that led to this defender's return to the team.

A young player who scored a goal in the first match under coach Advocaat against Iran. He is not afraid to fall after a shot and sometimes makes positional mistakes due to lack of experience.
