Real Madrid rejected an offer to buy striker Fernando Torres. According to sources from Italy, "Old Lady" offered four of their players for the rising Spanish football star: defenders Igor Tudor, Mauro Camoranesi, and striker Marcelo Zalayeta.
Furthermore, Juventus was willing to let Torres play at least one season with Atletico. However, Madrid club president Enrique Serezo rejected the possibility of selling their "golden boy".
"I wouldn't suggest other clubs knocking on our doors, because we won't open them. It would be foolish to sell Torres now. I am convinced that he will shine in Portugal during Euro 2004, and his market value will increase even more", he said.
