Roma Club's 31-year-old defender Jaap Stam, denied reports that claimed his agent had informed about an agreement with the new Italian champions.
On his official website, the player wrote: "You probably read or heard reports that I agreed to move from Lazio to Milan. But I want to make it clear that nothing was agreed upon. There were some comments allegedly from my agent, saying that I agreed with the club and would play for Milan next season, but that is not true. I think people added two and two and got five."
However, the Dutch national team defender admitted that he would be interested in an offer to play in Milan: "I have previously stated that I would agree to play for one of the clubs in Milan. My career years are coming to an end, and I think it is natural that I want to play for a big club that has ambitions to win titles in Italy and Europe."
"I would like to win more medals before ending my career," Stam continued. "But whether I will leave Lazio is still unclear. Of course, Milan has just become champions, and undoubtedly, the club will try to strengthen for the next season. But I say it again - nothing was agreed upon and these comments attributed to my agent did not come from my camp."
