As Italian national team doctor Enrico Castellacci told journalists, Italian national team defender Alessandro Nesta will play in the first World Cup match against Ghana.
"From today, the coach can expect Nesta's help in defense," said the doctor.
"AC Milan" center-back suffered muscle pain and did not train since Wednesday, when Italy arrived in Germany.
E.Castellacci also added that "Juventus" full-back Gianluca Zambrotta and "AC Milan" defensive midfielder Gennaro Gattuso will not play against Ghana as they have suffered thigh injuries, but next week they will be able to train at full strength again.
