Mexican national team forward Jared Borgetti, who suffered a left ankle ligament injury in Sunday's match against Iranian footballers, will not be able to play for seven to ten days, the team's chief doctor announced on Monday.
"It seems that the injury is serious," said Jose Luis Serrano. "We will conduct more detailed examinations tomorrow, but injuries like this usually require seven to ten days to heal."
This news means that J. Borgetti will likely have to miss the remaining two D group matches: on Friday against Angola and the following Wednesday against Portugal.
