After another unsuccessful match in the Lithuanian championship, the head coach of Vilnius "Vėtra" club, Edgaras Gessas, resigned from his position. E. Gessas has been coaching the capital's footballers since January of this year.

In 14 A League matches, "Vėtra" earned 18 points (4 wins, 6 draws, 4 losses). In the last two matches, the Vilnius team suffered crushing defeats with scores of 1-4 against "Ekranas" and "Kaunas," despite not hiding their ambitions to fight for the top spots before the season.

In the near future, Vytautas Jančiauskas will lead the "Vėtra" footballers, temporarily taking over as head coach.

V. Jančiauskas has already trained the team in 2002-2003 and worked with the reserve team at the beginning of this season.
