Iranian national team striker Ali Daei may miss his team's second group D match against Portugal on Saturday due to a back injury, team coach Branko Ivankovic said on Monday.
"Today Ali Daei did not participate in the team training due to back pain and I think it will be very difficult for him to recover in time for the match against the Portuguese team," Ivankovic told journalists.
The 37-year-old Iranian national team captain A. Daei, who is the only footballer on the planet to have scored more than 100 goals in international matches, watched his team mates' training at a local stadium, but did not participate himself.
