Deportivo defender Naybet Nourredine has announced that after this season, he will most likely leave the Galician team and go to play in Qatar.

The 34-year-old Moroccan has received a very tempting offer from a club in Qatar. Speaking to the Spanish media, the player stated: "It's time to make way for younger players."

"My contract with Deportivo is valid for another year, but I seriously doubt whether I will stay in Spain next year," Naybet continued. "I would like to play in Qatar. My goal now is to play there for two years and then end my footballing career."

One of the reasons for this player's decision could be the fact that his red card completely crushed Deportivo's hopes of reaching the Champions League final. In the return leg of the semifinals, he received two yellow cards and as a result, left the losing team down to ten men.

Qatar is becoming very popular at the end of players' careers. Clubs owned by wealthy oil sheikhs spare no expense in luring once shining stars. Last year, in August, the very well-known Argentine Gabriel Batistuta was tempted by money offered by Al Arabi - he signed a two-year contract worth eight million US dollars (about 23 million litas). According to the contract, he will receive 5 million US dollars for the first season and 3 million for the second. However, he will not only have to play but also partially work as a coach - teaching the players of Al Arabi the subtleties of football.
