Dortmund's "Borussia" and the German national team defender Christoph Metzelder injured his knee during training on Saturday and may miss the final Group A match against Ecuadorian footballers.
Playing in the center-back position, C. Metzelder ended training after just 45 minutes, as he twisted his right knee. He was taken to the hotel for evaluation.

However, after thorough examinations, it was revealed that the player expects to take the field in Tuesday's match.
"There are no major issues for Tuesday's match, as we expect the defender to be able to perform on the field," said assistant coach Joachim Loenas at a press conference.

Hosts Germany have already defeated Costa Rica 4-2 and Poland 1-0 in their group and advanced to the second stage of the tournament.
On Tuesday, June 20, Germany will face Ecuador for the first place in the group, who have also secured their spot in the World Cup round of 16.
