The head coach of the Ivory Coast, Henri Michel, announced on Sunday that he will leave his position as head coach after the World Cup, and for the last time he will lead the team in the insignificant matches against the teams of Serbia and Montenegro.
"The Ivory Coast Football Federation did not offer me an extension of the contract, so I will lead my team for the last time on June 21 in the match against Serbia," said the 58-year-old French-born strategist who helped the national team qualify for the World Cup for the first time.
When asked if he would coach another team on the continent, H. Michel replied: "I have already received several offers from other African countries, so most likely I will coach another African team."
The Ivory Coast and Serbia will end their World Cup campaign on June 21 in the "Allianz" Arena in Munich, as both teams lost their matches to the group leaders Netherlands and Argentina.
