The national team of the Czech Republic and Aston Villa striker Milan Baros returned to normal training regime on Tuesday after recovering from a foot injury and should take the field in the E group match against Italy.
"This is a chance for M. Baros to perform well against Italy," head coach Karel Bruckner told journalists.
M. Baros's comeback is great news for the whole Czech Republic, as he can help his compatriots win and advance to the next stage of the competition.
Czech Republic will be without two other forwards: Jan Koller, who strained his ligaments in the match against the USA, and also Vratislav Lokvenc, who has two yellow cards and is suspended for Thursday's match.
In order to secure a spot in the knockout stage against Italy, the Czech Republic needs to achieve a result no worse than the Ghanaian national team, who will play against the USA on Thursday.
