"Orlando Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's agent stated a desire for him to attract a striker from the team, while Glasgow club expressed interest in former Dutch national team striker as they prepare for the upcoming matches in the UEFA Champions League.
J.F. Hasselbaink's future at Middlesbrough is unclear as his contract expires this month and the club management has not offered him a new deal.
Former Chelsea star's agent Humphrey Nijmen confirmed that Hasselbaink himself wants to move to Glasgow. "I talked to Jimmy about the possibility of moving to a new club, and I heard from him directly that he really wants to go to Celtic," said Nijmen. "He said it is a great club and he would like to defend its honor."
"He is 34 years old, but he still wants to play at the highest level. I think Celtic will not be disappointed because he is already preparing for the next season. He is ready to give his all playing for the new club," added Nijmen.
Meanwhile, the new coach Peter Taylor stated that he is interested in Celtic's midfielder Neil Lennon. P. Taylor is eager to see Northern Ireland and Celtic's midfielder in his team, believing that he could help the team next season.
N. Lennon's contract is set to expire next month, but he has not accepted any offer yet and his future at the club is uncertain. Taylor previously worked with this midfielder in the Leicester team and now wants their paths to cross again.
"I always regretted selling Lennon to the Celtic team six years ago," the coach told Daily Record. "I have respect for this player and I want to see him again at Crystal Palace. I am afraid that my hopes of seeing him in my team may be shattered, as it is still unclear whether he will sign a new contract with Celtic. Neil is a versatile player and he would fit in any club."
Indeed, Celtic's manager Gordon Strachan expressed hope that the player will sign a new contract and stay at Parkhead.
