Switzerland's national team suffered a significant loss - they will have to continue the rest of the World Cup without Arsenal's defender Philippe Senderos.

21-year-old P. Senderos scored Switzerland's first goal in the final round of Group G matches on Friday against South Korea, which they won 2-0, but a few moments later the player had to leave the field due to injury.

P. Senderos left the field because he dislocated his shoulder, and he is convinced that he will miss a large part of the summer rehabilitating.

Switzerland's team doctor Rudolf Roeder diagnosed P. Senderos with stretched ligaments, meaning he will not be able to play for the next two weeks.

"He dropped out of the lineup for about two weeks," said R. Roeder. "There is only a 50 percent chance that he will not need surgery, but now the most important thing for him is to rest so he does not cause even more damage to himself."

Switzerland's national team finished first in Group G, beating opponents such as South Korea and France, and will face the debutant in the championship, the Ukrainian national team, in the round of 16.
