London club offered a contract to Tunisia national team defender Hatem Trabelsi, said the player's agent. Right-back defender H. Trabelsi recently unexpectedly announced the end of his career in the national team.

The Amsterdam club defender represented the Tunisia national team in Group H of this year's World Cup, in which teams from Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, and Spain played. The team failed to advance to the next stage of the competition, and the defender announced that he would leave the national team. The player played 61 matches for the national team and won the 2004 African Cup of Nations with the team.

H. Trabelsi also wants to leave the Amsterdam "Ajax" team, as the Dutch club did not want to extend the contract with the Tunisian, and other top-level clubs are interested in him.

Arsenal's head coach Arsene Wenger has always been a fan of this player and wanted to sign a contract with him back in August 2004.

The coach wants to strengthen the right side of the defense, as Lauren has been out of the lineup for a long time, and H. Trabelsi's agent Franklin Sedoc confirms that the North London team offered a contract to the defender.

However, other English clubs are also interested in this player. Two other English clubs, "West Ham United" and "Manchester City," have expressed their desire to offer him a contract.

"I can show that Arsenal has already prepared a contract for him," said F. Sedocas to the "Sunday Mirror."

"I receive calls from English clubs every day. Man City and West Ham also want to offer him a contract," he added.

"Hatem wants to play in the Champions League, and he will definitely not stay in the Dutch club," the agent concluded.

Last season, the Ajax team finished only in 4th place in the Dutch championship, which prevented them from participating in the most prestigious European tournament.

Meanwhile, the season was quite interesting for the Arsenal club: in the first half of the season, Arsene Wenger's team started quite shakily, experiencing several losses. The second half of the season was simply impressive: they managed to finish 4th in the English championship and reached the final of the UEFA Champions League, where after a fierce battle, the "Gunners" had to admit the superiority of the Spanish champions of Barcelona.
