Brazilian national team and Madrid club forward Robinho will have to miss the round of 16 match on Tuesday due to a knee injury.
The player suffered the injury during Saturday's training session. However, Robinho started feeling pain in his knee back when he played the final group stage match against Japan, which Brazil won 4-1.
The 21-year-old Robinho was forced to miss the team's training session on Sunday, and he will not appear in Tuesday's match against Ghana in Dortmund.
"Robinho is not included in the squad for the match against Ghana, but he will continue with physiotherapy," - stated the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) website.
The news regarding Robinho is disappointing, as it was thought that he would start the match in the starting lineup. However, now Adriano and Ronaldo will form the striking duo.
The Brazilian national team easily advanced to the next stage, winning all three matches in the group stage, while the Ghanaian footballers surprisingly reached the next round, leaving behind teams like the Czech Republic and the United States.
