According to the club's website, former Real Madrid defender Ivan Campo has extended his contract with an English club for another two years.
Bolton representatives specially flew to Spain to negotiate a new contract with the 32-year-old player, and I.Campo signed the new contract on the same day the old one expired.
I.Campo, who can play both as a midfielder and defender, was initially loaned out from Real Madrid to the English club in August 2002, becoming a permanent player only a year ago. Wearing the Bolton jersey, he appeared on the field 111 times and scored 8 goals.
I.Campo started his career in the Alaves team, spent a season in Valladolid, was later bought by Valencia for 12 million pounds, and then moved to Real Madrid where he played 60 games for the royal club.
Last season, Bolton finished in 8th position in England, but I.Campo had to miss a substantial part of the season due to a foot injury suffered in the FA Cup match against Arsenal, colliding with the young Frenchman Vassiriki Diaby.
