The owner of Edinburgh from Lithuania, Vladimir Romanov, recently warned the team's newly appointed head coach, Valdas Ivanauskas, that the club must win the Scottish championship gold medals next season.
V.Romanov, praising V.Ivanauskas for the past season, also hopes that the team will advance to the UEFA Champions League group stage.
"Valdas successfully led the team at the end of last season," said V.Romanov. "Everything went smoothly and we won the Scottish Cup, and the team accepted the coach and got used to him.
"He has authority and is very energetic, so he became the permanent coach."
Recently, former "FBK Kaunas" head coach Eduardas Malofejevas joined the team. According to V.Romanov, the experienced specialist from Belarus should help V.Ivanauskas lead the Edinburgh team.
"To compensate for V.Ivanauskas' lack of experience in such positions, I invited E.Malofejevas to help him. Their goal is to win the Scottish championship and secure a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage."
Last season, besides V.Ivanauskas, the "Hearts" team was led by two other coaches - George Burnley and Graham Rix, but neither of them met V.Romanov's expectations and were relieved of their duties.
