Polish national team striker Ireneusz Jelen, who signed a temporary contract with a French team, hopes to put his signature on the final agreement in a few days.
"Ligue 1" team "Auxerre" announced on their website at the beginning of this week that I. Jelen had signed a 4-year contract with the team, but Vysła "Płock" stated that this is not a final agreement.
"I put my signature under a preliminary contract. Now the clubs should come to a final agreement between themselves," said the footballer in an interview with Polish press. "I believe Vysła 'Płock' and 'Auxerre' will reach an agreement."
"The agreement should be reached within a few days," said the spokesman for Vysła.
Striker I. Jelen was one of the few Polish national team players who performed well when the national team withdrew from the World Cup after the first stage. After three years, the footballer managed to establish himself in the starting lineup of the national team.
The 25-year-old player scored two goals in 12 matches for the Polish national team and usually appeared on the field as a substitute.
