"Monaco" and Croatia national team forward Dado Pršo will represent the Glasgow club next season.
The Scottish club officially announced that the 29-year-old player will sign a three-year contract with "Rangers." This season, Pršo was one of the discoveries in the Champions League, scoring 7 goals and helping the French team reach the tournament final. However, the player's contract with Monaco was only valid until the end of the season, and other clubs could offer their terms. English clubs were practically agreed with the Croatian, but he later decided to play in Scotland.
Pršo, explaining why he chose "Rangers," said that the Glasgow club made a great effort to lure him to their side: "When I saw how they behaved, I was impressed. They gave me a private plane and made an unprecedented effort to make me feel welcome. I immediately formed a good opinion about coach Alex McLeish. It was really impressive. I am moving to a great club and I am very very happy."
The player also admitted that he left France for financial reasons: "I honestly thought I would stay with Monaco, but they couldn't compete. There are too many financial problems and I couldn't wait forever. I wanted everything to be clear before I left for Euro 2004."
The team's coach Alex McLeish was delighted with the new acquisition: "I am very happy to have a player of this caliber. This season I watched Pršo many times. He plays very straight as a forward and is in the right place at the right time, which is exactly what we need."
"Rangers" club remained without titles this season and actively seeks reinforcements for the next year. In addition to Pršo, Marvin Andrews and Jean Boumsong will also play in Glasgow next season."
