The Latvian champion club "Metalurgs" from Liepaja was joined by another Lithuanian football player - Vadimas Petrenka. The 32-year-old goalkeeper started this season in the "Šilutė" team and scored one goal in the Lithuanian "A Lyga" championship match.
V.Petrenka was already wearing the "Metalurgs" jersey during the Latvian championship match, when the Liepaja players crushed the "Jurmala" team 7-1. The winning team also scored one goal by Lithuanian goalkeeper Mindaugas Kalonas.
This season, in the "Metalurgs" team led by Lithuanian coach Benjamin Zelkevičius, there are four players from Lithuania playing alongside V.Petrenka - goalkeepers Tomas Tamošauskas, Darius Miceika, Mindaugas Kalonas, and forward Nerijus Astrauskas.
Meanwhile, the "Šilutė" team has already lost a second goalkeeper this month - another former "Kaunas" goalkeeper Nerijus Mačiulis recently moved to Marijampolė's "Sūduva". His place in the Šilutė team has been taken by 20-year-old legionnaire from Russia, Maksimas Berdnikas, who transferred from "Kaunas".
