The board of the Spanish superclub, which remained without titles this season, decided to spend about 90 million euros (about 312 million litas) on new players this summer.
The club's leaders already have a preliminary list of players they would like to acquire for this amount. It includes the trio of Italian stars - [players' names], as well as the Argentinian defensive pillar [player's name], a goalkeeper, and the best African player of the year, recognized as the Cameroonian striker [player's name].
Looking at this list, it becomes clear that the main priority for Real Madrid's leaders, after such an unsuccessful season, is defense - even two of the best defenders in the world - the Argentinians Ayala and Samuel - would become an almost impenetrable wall for opponents. To make sure that wall really is impenetrable, Real Madrid intends to acquire the young Xabi Alonso, who would play in the defensive midfielder position, where he excels.
If we were to believe the promises of Real Madrid's leaders, then next year, with the return of Fernando Morientes, the addition of the Italian national team star Totti and the Cameroonian Eto'o, Real Madrid would become a significantly stronger team than this year. However, it is worth noting that even with this year's lineup, "Real" was considered the main favorites in all the tournaments they participated in, but as it turned out, "Los Galacticos" ended the season without any titles.
