The best player of this season's French championship may miss the UEFA Cup final, which will take place next week. This is what coach Jose Anigo says.
Marseille's attacking leader suffered an injury in last weekend's match and for now, it is unknown whether he will recover in time for the UEFA Cup final.
Anigo hopes that the player will recover for the most important matches of this season and is prepared to allow Drogba to rest and not play the remaining "Ligue 1" matches.
"The injury is not serious, but as long as Didier is feeling pain, we cannot risk his health," said Jose Anigo. "So you definitely won't see Didier on the field until the final match."
"Dos Santos, Ferreira, and Marlet are also injured, so I have no choice," Anigo reassured.
"Now is the time when we can no longer afford to make mistakes that could harm us in the final, so do not expect to see those players on the field in the last 'Ligue 1' matches before the final (against 'Toulouse' - ed. note). This even applies to Fabien (Barthez - ed. note)."
