One of the most productive strikers of the Italian "Serie A" championship, Cristiano Lucarelli, stated that he was disappointed with his team after finding out that they had already agreed with the Russian St. Petersburg club for the player's transfer.
According to reports, the Russian team "Livorno" is ready to pay 10 million euros for the striker, and Lucarelli himself is offered a 3 million euros contract for three years. However, the player claims to be disappointed that his team gave in so easily to the Russians.
"They told me that they wouldn't sell me for any money, and after an hour and a half, they informed me that they had reached an agreement with 'Zenit'," Lucarelli told Italian television.
"To me, it's all the same. However, I endured 'Livorno' for three years, scored goals, and stayed in the team solely for the love of the team's fans. Therefore, I expected more respect from the club leaders," the Italian did not hide his bitterness.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the Russian club, whose recent coach became former South Korean strategist Dick Advocaat, claimed they would do everything for Lucarelli, who scored 20 goals in the last "Serie A" season, to wear "Zenit" jerseys next season.
