Portugal's national team and defender Armando Petitas denied rumors about moving to a club and stated that he is ready to stay in his current club.
The 29-year-old defender has been interested in "Red Devils" coach Sir Alex Ferguson for some time, who openly admitted that he is looking for a long-term replacement for former captain Roy Keane who left the team last season.
However, Petitas himself now insists that a possible move to "Man Utd" is already in the past, and he is ready to give his all to "Benfica" team next season.
"Now, after the World Cup, I want to rest a bit to regain my strength and be able to help my team again," Petitas said.
"Manchester United"? That is already in the past and I am ready to stay in Lisbon. This is my firm decision and I am not going to change it.".
After the World Cup, Petitas helped Portugal's national team achieve fourth place with successful performances. However, the player was a bit shaken by the last match for the third place against the German national team, which Portugal lost 1-3, and Petitas scored an own goal.
