Italian national team and Turin club striker Fabrizio Miccoli will spend another year in Portugal - the Italian team announced that they have extended the player's loan agreement for another year.
The 27-year-old striker represented "Benfica" last season on loan and with successful performances helped the team reach the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. After the end of this agreement, the Portuguese club had the opportunity to fully buy the player's rights for 6 million euros, but they decided not to do so and extended the loan agreement for another year.
Meanwhile, one of the biggest scandals in football history is currently shaking "Juventus", which faces relegation to "Serie B" or even "Serie C", wants to reclaim Miccoli, as the club will inevitably lose many of its stars when dropping to a lower league.
However, the "Juventus" management decided that even in such cases Miccoli will not be needed by them and agreed to loan him to the Lisbon club for another year.
"Juventus" loaned Fabrizio Miccoli to "Benfica" for the 2006/2007 season," - announces the official press release of the Turin team.
