One of the biggest football scandals in recent years, the sports director of the troubled Turin club Alessio Secco, stated that his team does not intend to sell its stars even if they drop to a lower league.
Juventus, along with several other Serie A clubs, is accused of being involved in predetermined match-fixing and faces the loss of the Serie A titles won in the past two years as well as relegation to Serie B or even Serie C championships.
However, A. Secco claims that despite everything, the team will do everything possible to keep their leaders even if they fall to a lower division, and definitely does not promise to be a shopping center where big European clubs could easily shop.
"We will do everything for other teams to understand that we are not planning to be a shopping center," said Secco. "At the moment, we are not even thinking about Serie C, maybe Serie B, but even if we drop, we will try to maintain the core of the team."
"If we are relegated from Serie A, we must maintain the core of the team, because only then will we be able to return among the strongest teams in the country after a year and fight for places in the UEFA Champions League," he said.
"We are ready to use all the club's financial resources to preserve the team's composition. Money is not the most important thing right now - the team's honor is most important and it must play among the strongest teams in the country," said the club's sports director.
