Former Roma striker veteran Paolo Di Canio will play in the "Serie C2" championship next season - the player has signed a two-year contract with the Roma "Cisco" team.
The 38-year-old forward, known for his fascist gestures, has played for clubs such as Sheffield Wednesday and West Ham United during his career. Last season, the striker played for the Lazio team, but after the contract expired, the club did not want to keep Di Canio in their team for another year.
Initially, the player had mentioned that he would end his career as a player and start coaching courses. Di Canio even hinted that he dreams of coaching the same Roma "Lazio" team in the future.
However, it seems that now the player will have to postpone his plans, as signing a contract with "Cisco" means he cannot start coaching courses - Italian football rules prohibit playing and studying at coaching school at the same time.
It is said that Di Canio has signed a two-year contract with the "Cisco" team, with the possibility of extending it for another year. If the player decides to stay at the Roma club, he will be 40 years old by then.
