Former assistant to Jurgen Klinsmann, Joachim Low, who has now become the head coach of the new German national team, has received support from team stars Michael Ballack and Jens Lehmann.
As we reported earlier, Low became the coach of the German national team after Klinsmann, who had led the team to a third-place finish in the World Cup, decided not to renew his contract with the country's football federation.
"Without a doubt, it's very sad that Klinsmann decided to step down, but on the other hand, I'm very happy that Low has become the new coach of the team," said one of Germany's team leaders, Michael Ballack.
"He knows the team very well, and I believe he will continue to work in the direction that the team has been moving so far."
The new coach was also pleased with the team's goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, for whom this World Cup was the first serious tournament playing in the main team.
"Low's appointment as head coach, in my opinion, is a logical decision," said Lehmann. "He played an important role in preparing the team for the World Cup, and I believe he will continue to work just as successfully."
"I respect this coach for his work methods and his tactical knowledge. With him becoming the head coach, both we and the team's fans can be confident that the playing style of the German national team, which left a good impression on many during the World Cup, will not change."
