On Wednesday, four UEFA Champions League first round matches were played, all of which ended with a minimal one-goal lead. The victory for his team was determined by a Lithuanian player who helped the Latvian champion club "Aktobe" to win.
The "Lithuanian" Benjamin Zelkevičius trained Liepaja's "Metalurgs", represented by four Lithuanians, faced the strongest team from Kazakhstan, "Aktobe", at home. The only goal was scored in the 14th minute, when T. Tamošauskas deceived the defender and sent the ball into the top corner of the goal from 17 meters.
Soon after, Mindaugas Kalonas missed the opportunity to double the lead, and later the Kazakhs took the initiative and had chances to equalize the result. However, Igoris Aksenovas and Vitalijus Kitsakas failed to capitalize on their chances, and in the 61st minute, Andrejus Škurinas' shot hit the crossbar.
