Defender of Ivory Coast national team has transferred from the club for an undisclosed fee. The 25-year-old player, who is still awaiting medical examination and international clearance before pulling on the shirt of Sam Allardyce's coached team, has signed a four-year contract.
"We have been monitoring Abdoulaye for a long time. He has all the necessary qualities you would expect from an international player," said the coach to the "Bolton" club website. "He is young and I believe he will quickly adapt to the intensity of the Premier League."
Playing for "Marseille" for five seasons, A. Meite made over 100 appearances, but last season he did not feature in coach Jean Fernandez's future plans.
S. Allardyce has already secured the services of Idan Tal and hopes to bring in more reinforcements before the transfer window closes: "We are working very hard to attract new players to the club and I am confident that we will have more before the start of the new season."
Last season, "Bolton" finished in 8th place in the English championship, while the "Marseille" team remained in 5th place.
