La Coruna, undergoing changes, rented Fabian Estoyanoff, a defender from the Uruguayan national team, belonging to Valencia. The 23-year-old Uruguayan joined Valencia in the summer of 2005, but last season he spent with Cadiz under a lease agreement.
"Our goal ('Deportivo') this year is to qualify for European tournaments. I can't promise a lot of goals, but I promise to give my all on the field," said the defender.
Although in the last decade 'Deportivo' often participated in European tournaments, this year they are not participating because they finished eighth in the Spanish championship last year.
After a relatively unsuccessful season, 'Deportivo' coach Joaquin Caparros, in addition to F.Estoyanoff, added seven more players to his squad: forwards Riki, Rodolfo Bodipo, and Christian Hidalgo, midfielders Pablo Álvarez and Juan Rodriguez, and defender Alberto Lopo.
