The club plans to offer a contract extension to Dutch veteran goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar for another year.
The Dutch national team goalkeeper joined the ranks of the "Red Devils" from "Fulham" last summer and became a very prominent figure in the team.
During last season, the player won the silver medals of the "Premier" league for the first time and proved to the team's coach Sir Alex Ferguson that he could replace the legendary Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.
Current E. van der Sar's contract is valid for another 12 months, but S.A. Ferguson hopes to find a replacement for the 35-year-old goalkeeper in the next season.
"Edwin's contract was only valid for a year, but we will give him a chance to extend it for another year," Ferguson says. - "We will pay attention to his age and trust him for the upcoming season, as last year he was a great addition to the team. His form was simply amazing."
Former "Ajax" and "Juventus" goalkeeper will be the main choice of S.A. Ferguson next season, but the coach does not hide that he will try to find a replacement for the Dutchman. American Tim Howard will be loaned to "Everton" for the entire next season, while Ben Foster would like to return to "Watford".
The coach is trying to acquire the goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak from "West Bromwich Albion" team, but the club does not want to sell the Polish goalkeeper.
