In Munich on Monday, it was announced that coach Felix Magath has agreed to extend his contract for another year and will stay at the German champions' club until the end of the 2008 season.
"Both parties agreed that another year is sufficient," - this information was announced by "Bayern" manager Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on the club's website.
"During talks, we got the impression that Felix Magath is not interested in extending the contract just to keep his job. He wants to stay as long as possible," added K. H. Rummenigge.
The 52-year-old F. Magath arrived at "Bayern" in Munich in 2004. In two seasons with this team, he became the first Bundesliga coach to win the German championship and cup two times in a row.
