According to the Italian newspaper "Il Giornale," two more "Serie A" clubs may be involved in the football corruption scandal in the country. It is said that the head of the investigation group, Francesco Saverino, will receive 300 pages of previously unseen phone calls, allowing for the accusation of at least two clubs.

There are no signs of who might be involved in the scandal, but "Il Giornale" promised to reveal everything in the next few days. Rumors suggest that it could be "Empoli" and "Siena," as well as the names of the clubs "Lecce" and "Messina" from the previous season.

It is believed that the second wave of the scandal may even require a review of the verdict announced last Friday for four clubs and possibly delay the start of the season. The date may change due to appeals filed by "Juventus," "Fiorentina," "Lazio," and "Milan," which will be examined on Saturday morning.

The initial trial process was widely criticized, with claims that the accused did not have enough time and opportunities to defend themselves since witnesses or video recordings were not allowed, and the investigators had to review the material in a relatively short time.

It is unclear when the appeals will be examined, but it is unlikely to be done by July 25th when UEFA is supposed to receive the list of Italian clubs participating in European tournaments. If the initial verdict is upheld, "Inter" will be replaced in the Champions League by "Roma," Verona's "Chievo," and "Palermo."

The situation is more complicated for the UEFA Cup - "Parma" and "Livorno" will participate, but "Empoli" did not receive any assistance from the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) in obtaining a license. Therefore, despite efforts to prevent it from participating in European tournaments with the punishment, the vacant spot would be taken by the "Milan" club.

Good news also came for the other Milan team, "Inter." According to reports in the press, this club should be awarded the title of last season's champions, as "Juventus" has already lost it, and "Milan," who finished second, lost 44 points. The decision should be made on July 28th at the meeting of FIGC and League members.

Meanwhile, the special FIGC commissioner Guido Rossi proposed to increase the number of teams promoted to the highest league from the lower "Serie B" next season. The federation president assured that three clubs should automatically earn their spots in "Serie A" instead of two because there are many prominent clubs in the second strongest championship.
