The 12th round of the Russian Premier League started with two matches. Both matches, like the previous round games on Wednesday, ended in draws - "Lokomotiv" shared points with "Tom", and "Spartak" failed to defeat the "Saturn" team.

An intriguing match took place in Moscow, where "Spartak" hosted the Ramenskoye's "Saturn" team. The main events of the match had to be awaited until the end - in the 78th minute, Czech Martin Jiranek put Spartak ahead, but eight minutes later, Finnish-Russian Aleksei Yeryomenko leveled the score, and the hosts finished the match with ten men after Radoslav Kovac was sent off. The draw prevented "Spartak" from overtaking the second-placed "CSKA" club, while "Saturn" remains in the lower part of the standings.

In other matches in the Russian capital, "Lokomotiv" played against "Tom" and took the lead when the team's attacking leader Dmitry Sychev scored at the beginning of the second half. However, Pavel Pogrebnyak equalized after just over an hour of play. This result allowed "Lokomotiv" to catch up with "Spartak" and Kazan's "Rubin" with 22 points, while "Tom" remained in sixth place with 19 points, trailing Samara's "Krylya Sovetov".

Four matches of the 12th round will be played on Sunday, while the remaining two matches for clubs participating in European cup competitions will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday.
