The champion of the Spanish championship and the owner of the Champions League trophy "Barcelona" extended the contract with the club's defender Oleguer until 2010.

The Catalan club announced that on Monday the defender signed a contract, according to which the agreement that was valid until 2008 is officially extended for two more seasons. Oleguer's buyout clause has been doubled - from 30 to 60 million euros. That is the amount that another club would have to pay without negotiations with "Barça" to sign the player.

In the main lineup of Barcelona, Oleguer made his debut in 2002, after playing for the Barcelona B youth team. The 26-year-old Catalan became the twelfth player of Barca with a guaranteed contract until 2010.

Until the mentioned year, contracts with the Catalan team are also held by goalkeeper Victor Valdes, defenders Carles Puyol and Rafael Marquez, midfielders Andres Iniesta, Xavi, and Deco, who can play both in defense and attack, Ronaldinho, as well as forwards Samuel Eto'o and Eidur Gudjohnsen.

The contract of the young Argentine Lionel Messi with "Barcelona" is valid until 2014. It is worth mentioning that the latest acquisition of the Spanish champions - Italian defender Gianluca Zambrotta - has also linked his future with the Catalan club for the next four seasons.
