As reported by the Spanish media, club president Juan Soleras has asked to specify the amount for which the Portugal national team full-back is being sold. The latter had previously wanted to move abroad and stated that he would choose the Madrid team.
However, "Valencia" is preparing to outbid the nine-time European champions "Real", and J. Soleras confirmed this to the newspaper "Marca": "I have always said that it will be very difficult, but nothing is impossible. We are not going to give up until they say no, no, and again no."
"This will be the most important thing for our technical staff at the moment. We have time until August 31," said the president of "Valencia".
The future of the 21-year-old player has become a serious topic of speculation after he clashed with his teammate Wayne Rooney in the World Cup quarter-final match between the national teams of England and Portugal.
