F.Torres promises to stay with "Atletico" © EuroFootball.com

Spanish national team forward Fernando Torres has rejected all rumors about a move to a new club and promises to continue representing the Madrid team.

The 22-year-old striker had a successful performance in this year's World Cup, where he managed to score three times against the opponents' goalkeepers, attracting interest from top clubs such as Milan and Man Utd, who are looking for a replacement for the departing Ruud van Nistelrooy.

It is rumored that the "Red Devils" club offered £25 million for the star, but the Spaniard stated that the player is not for sale and will not leave Atletico.

"I will participate in the preparation for the new season at the camp with the team and I have no intentions of leaving the team," the striker told the press on Tuesday. "I want to stay here. We need to forget the disappointments of last season. We have a new coach (Javier Aguirre), whom I trust a lot, and he trusts me too. We have acquired many new excellent players and I can't wait to work with them in the upcoming season."

Over the course of four years representing the Madrid team, F. Torres has been its most productive player. The striker's contract with the club is valid until 2008.
