The duo of goalkeeper Scott Carson and defender Paul Anderson of England's Liverpool Club have signed new improved contracts with the club.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper, who coincidentally made it into this year's England national team that participated in the World Cup, extended his contract with Liverpool for another two years and promised to tie his future to the club until 2011.

S. Carson, who was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday last season, is set to become the backup for the main goalkeeper, Spanish Pepe Reina, next season.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old defender P. Anderson, who triumphed in the FA Cup with Liverpool's reserve team last season, extended his contract for another three years, with the expiration date set for 2010.

P. Anderson moved to Liverpool in January of last year from Hull after a successful trial. The defender played in friendly matches for Liverpool's main team earlier this month and scored a beautiful goal against Wrexham.

Last season, the "Reds" finished in 3rd place in the English Premier League and won the FA Cup final against West Ham after a dramatic penalty shootout.

This summer, the team's manager Rafa Benitez has already acquired defenders Fabio Aurelio and Gabriel Paletta, midfielder Marco Gonzalez, and forward Craig Bellamy, but they also had some departures - selling forwards Djibril Cisse and Fernando Morientes. The club is also looking to sign defenders Jermaine Pennant and Yossi Benayoun, as well as forward Dirk Kuyt.
