The new Turin coach Didier Deschamps insists that despite the club's relegation to Serie B, no player will leave the team.
"No one will leave. The club directors have decided that players with valid contracts will remain even in Serie B," Deschamps told the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport" on Thursday.
"After one year we will come back and fight again for the main title. It is much better to keep the current players than to try to buy them back after a year," the strategist expressed his position on the players.
However, club president Giovanni Cobolli's opinion differed slightly from that of Turin's coach. G.Cobolli seems prepared to part ways with some players for the right amount of money.
"If some players leave the team, others will arrive, and if anyone leaves the club, they will not be sold cheaply," Juventus president said.
The team has already weakened with the departure of Italy's national team captain Fabio Cannavaro, Brazilian Emerson, and defenders Gianluca Zamrotta and Lilian Thuram to Spain. Losing these players, fans of the team began to fear that their beloved club may face problems when returning to Serie A.
There are mostly doubts about the fate of goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon among the players remaining in the team. The player's agent Silvano Martina has previously stated that his client decided to stay in the team, but recently there have been rumors about a possible transfer of the goalkeeper to Milan. The appeals court returned this team to the Champions League where Juventus, if nothing changes, will not play for at least another couple of years. This circumstance could help Buffon decide to leave the Turin club.
Defender Mauro Camoranesi and forwards David Trezeguet and Zlatan Ibrahimovic also think about their future in the team. If the latter decide to leave the Italian club, they will definitely not lack buyers.
Several of the best players have already left the 27-time Italian champions after the club was punished for illegal actions in the 2004/2005 season. On Tuesday, the appeals court decided that Juventus would start the season in Serie B with a 17-point deficit.
