Recently, the Prime Minister of Thailand Thaksin Sinawatra announced his intention to acquire a stake in a club competing in the English Premier League.
It is reported that he offered £65 million (more than 333 million litas) to the "Liverpool" club. However, the Thai Prime Minister may face strong competition from construction tycoon Steve Morgan, who offered "only" £50 million (more than 256 million litas) for the club. "Liverpool" previously rejected his offer, but Morgan contacted the club again and repeated his proposal, this time offering £73 million (more than 374 million litas).
The management of the "Liverpool" team will decide today whether to accept the offer from the Thai Prime Minister.
However, Sinawatra claims he will not increase his offer, regardless of the decision. If he fails to acquire the Liverpool club, he says he will look for another English club to invest in. "We will stick to our offer. If the club chooses other, higher bidders, it will not be a problem for us. We will find other clubs to buy," he said.
Nevertheless, it is said that Sinawatra is considered the favorite in this race against Morgan. The current owner of "Liverpool" is David R. Moore.
