And it is announced that both clubs have agreed on the transfer of 25-year-old England national team midfielder Michael Carrick to "Man Utd." The player has already agreed on a contract with the English vice-champions and only needs to undergo a medical check-up, which will take place on Monday.

The sale of Carrick will bring a significant profit to the Tottenham team, as two years ago they acquired this midfielder from "West Ham United" for only 2.75 million pounds sterling. It is believed that the latter club will receive a part of the transfer fee, as it was stipulated in the player's transfer agreement to Tottenham.
This is the first significant purchase of "Man Utd" manager Alex Ferguson this summer and an attempt to strengthen the defensive line, which was the weakest point of the team in the previous season.
