Last season, finishing in a high fifth place in the Spanish championship and winning the UEFA Cup, and continues to strengthen significantly: on Tuesday evening, the club announced the acquisition of Uruguayan national team striker Javier Chevantono.

The 25-year-old forward, who has played 21 matches for the Uruguayan national team, moved to Spain for about 8 million euros and signed a five-year contract with Sevilla.

The former "Danubio" player moved to "Monaco" two years ago from the Italian mid-table club "Lecce". In fifty Ligue 1 matches, the Uruguayan scored twenty goals.

This summer, Sevilla has already added German defender Andreas Hinkel, Danish national team defender Christian Poulsen, and Portuguese defender Duda.
