Club defender Pedro Mendes has signed a new 4-year contract with the club and will remain at "Fratton Park" until 2010.
The 27-year-old defender joined "Pompey" club in January of this year, and extended contracts along with Lomana LuaLua, Gary O‘Neil, and Matt Taylor.
"I am very pleased to have tied my future with "Portsmouth"," said P. Mendes to the club's website. - "The past year was very important to me as a newcomer, and I am satisfied that I have dealt with this task and established myself in the team."
"But anyone who is a member of "Pompey" today knows that there will be many great moments ahead and this is the place to be," added the Portuguese. - "I am happy that in this club I will face many challenges and responsibilities, so I am looking forward to the start of the upcoming season with pleasure."
Last season, the player represented the "Tottenham" team, but in January the team sold this 27-year-old defender to "Portsmouth", which dramatically managed to stay in the "Premier" league at the end of the season.
