One of the most famous defenders in the world, Gerard Pique, will spend the entire upcoming season on loan to a Spanish club. Last season, wearing the "Red Devils" jersey, the Spaniard appeared in just seven matches, but this summer he drew the attention of many clubs by helping the Spanish youth (U-19) team win the European Championship.
"Man Utd" is loaning the 19-year-old player and hopes that he will become a strong player for the club in the future, as playing in the "La Liga" championship will give him more experience. A former player of the "Barcelona" youth academy, playing somewhat reminiscent of Rio Ferdinand and Franz Beckenbauer, he hopes to earn a starting position in the team led by Victor Fernandez.
He became the fifth player to join the ranks of the "Zaragoza" club this summer - alongside Juanfran, Sergio Fernandez, Andres D'Alessandro, and Pablo Aimar. Meanwhile, for the "Man Utd" team, this is not a huge loss, as they have players like Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Mikael Silvestre, Gabriel Heinze, and Wes Brown who can play in the center back position.
Last season, "Zaragoza" finished only in 11th place in Spain and scored 51 goals in 38 matches.
