During the 22nd round of the "A League" matches in Marijampolė, two neighbors in the tournament table, Marijampolė's "Sūduva" and "Vilnius" football players, met. After a dramatic and nerve-racking battle, the hosts celebrated victory, temporarily rising to third place in the tournament table.

Then the game moved towards the Vilnius team's goal. After a pass from David Čigladze, Aleksandras Osipovičius had the opportunity to score, but the Belarusian legionnaire missed the goal. In the 30th minute, this player missed an even better opportunity when he found himself alone against the goalkeeper, but the excellent skills of Arturas Semežas saved the opponent's shot.

At the end of the first half, two more opportunities were created by the "Sūduva" players, but attempts by Tomas Miklinevičius and Aleksandras Abramenko were not successful. Therefore, neither team managed to score in the first half.

Shortly after the start of the second half, Aleksandras Osipovičius missed another excellent opportunity, failing to score from a few meters away after deceiving the defender.

Until the 61st minute of the match, the teams struggled to break through the opponents' defense, and finally, the Vilnius defender Adrianas Mrowiec brought down A.Abramenko in the penalty area, and referee Audrius Žuta awarded a penalty kick to Artūras Semežas' goal, which was converted by D.Čigladze. After the goal, the "Sūduva" players gave the initiative to the Vilnius team for a while.

In the 76th minute, R.Radavičius provoked the first goal scorer D.Čigladze and the latter waved his hand to the Vilnius defender. He fell after simulating, and the referee decided to show a red card to D.Čigladze, leaving the Marijampolė team to play with ten against eleven.
