In the Russian "Premier" League, continuing the 14th round of matches on Saturday after a long break, we saw a notable Lithuanian player - Edgaras Česnauskis scored two goals and secured a victory for the "Saturn" club. Meanwhile, in other matches, Moscow's "Torpedo" and "Spartak" clubs achieved crushing victories with three-goal differences.

In the Moscow derby, two underdog teams that started the season unsuccessfully clashed - "Torpedo" and "Dynamo" clubs. In the 32nd minute, the hosts' player Grzegorz Pekhna scored, causing goalkeeper Žydrūnas Karčemarskas to pull the ball from the net, which he had to do twice, including in the second half when Evgeniy Lustenko and Aleksandr Danishevskis scored. This was already the eighth consecutive winless match for the "Militsiya" team, leaving them second to last. After a seven-game break, "Torpedo," which won, moved up to the 13th position.

High-scoring matches took place at the "Luzhniki" stadium in the capital, where Moscow's "Spartak" managed to solve their goal-scoring problem and netted the ball five times in the first half against "Rostov." Vladimir Bystrov opened the scoring for the hosts, followed by two goals from Roman Pavlyuchenko, a fantastic goal by the Argentine F. Cavenaghi, and a goal by the compatriot Clemente Rodriguez after the ball passed the goalkeeper from a distance. Just before the break, the visitors scored a consolation goal through a penalty by Mikhail Osinov, who repeated the feat in the 82nd minute. "Spartak" won with a score of 5-2, securing the title of leaders for the second time in a row and surpassing the defending champion "CSKA" in the standings based on goal difference.

The Ramenskoye "Saturn" club achieved an unexpected third season win by defeating the Kazan "Rubin" team away with a significant advantage. After nine consecutive draws in fourteen matches, the coach Vladimir Weiss's seat at "Saturn" was already wobbly, but it was saved by the successful play of Edgaras Česnauskis and Aleksejus Jariomenko. In the second half, the Lithuanian scored two goals after passes from his teammate and earned a penalty, which A. Jariomenko converted, helping "Saturn" secure a victory after a six-game break.
