Currently, under the leadership of the famous German national team player Lothar Matthaus, the Hungarian national team, Matthaus is ready to leave this post and go to Turkey, Istanbul, to coach a club in that country.
On May 30th of this year, the Istanbul club will hold elections for the team president, and their strongest candidate, Yildirim Demiroren, claims to have already reached an agreement with the famous coach.
Speaking to the "Anatolian News" agency, Demiroren's assistant Kivanc Oktay stated: "We have already reached an agreement with Lothar Matthaus on all issues. If we are elected, he will be the head coach of Besiktas. Currently, in Milan, we are discussing player transfers with him."
Last year, World Champion Lothar Matthaus stepped down as the head coach of the team after disputes with the club's management and became the coach of the Hungarian national team. The contract with Hungary is valid until 2005.
