The most productive player of last season's European leagues decided to stay. This was confirmed by club president Diego Della Valle on Tuesday after a meeting with the striker of the Italian national team.

The club president came to the press conference with Luca Toni and sports director Pantaleo Corvino, and after announcing the results of the meeting, he put an end to the long discussions about the possibility of the "Fiorentina" attack leader joining a Milan team.

"Luca understood our reasons and will stay; he is an excellent player and will remain an important player for 'Fiorentina.' The player knows that he is very important for our future plans, and I appreciate his understanding. It only took us five minutes to clarify all the previous misunderstandings, and we didn't have to talk about any financial issues. It's not common for a player to prioritize loyalty to the team over money; it happens very rarely," said D. Della Valle.

Luca Toni also wanted to explain the reasons behind his completely unexpected decision. The player had recently expressed his desire to leave the club and compete for top titles, as he believes he won't be able to do so with 'Fiorentina,' which has lost the right to participate in the Champions League and will likely start the Serie A season with a 19-point deficit.

"I spoke with the president, and that was enough for me. Now I just want to play and achieve important results with 'Fiorentina.' I am completely convinced of my decision to stay here and want to start training with my teammates as soon as possible," said L. Toni.

Returning from vacation after the World Cup, L. Toni immediately joined the Florence team's training camp at San Piero a Sieve, and after some work there, he went to meet with D. Della Valle.

This player's decision means that "Inter" will most likely now focus on trying to acquire Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovič. It is believed that the Milan club has already offered around 22 million euros for the player, but "Juve" would like to receive around 30 million for the Swede.
