After the introductory matches on Friday, twelve teams started a new season of the German championship on Saturday. In three matches of the 1st round, surprises were recorded from the six played - "Schalke" and "Hamburger" failed to beat their opponents applying to leaders, while "Stuttgart" was humiliated at their own stadium. "Bayer", "Gladbach", and "Mainz" celebrated victories at home.
